Amin Salam
Amin Salam (born May 31, 1979) is a Lebanese-American politician, lawyer, businessman, and international trade and investment adviser. He served as Lebanon’s Minister of Economy and Trade from 2021 to 2025 and concurrently as a governor of the World Bank Group for four years. An independent politician, he was regarded as a potential candidate for the office of prime minister during the formation of the new government following the last presidential election. Salam was the youngest member of the cabinet, chaired the Ministerial Committee for Food Security, and was a permanent member of the National Defense Council of the Lebanese government.
Over the course of his international career, Salam has led trade and investment work in 60 countries and has served on the boards of a number of international institutions. His advisory practice has centered on geopolitics, global strategy, and cross-border investment, including counsel to Fortune 100 companies worldwide. He is also noted for his expertise in post-conflict economies, with a focus on reconstruction, institutional resilience, and economic revitalization.
Salam studied International Investment law and finance at Harvard Law School, international law at the George Washington University Law School, and earned a licence en droit from La Sagesse University’s School of Law and Political Science.
